Main Road of boshehr-dashsetan –Project Sections 5 & 6

Location of project

Sections 5 & 6 of the main road on the axis route of boshehr-dashsetan -S hahr (Bozman intersection) with a length of km 33 154, is constructed between km 124 400 and km 156 000. This road is considered as a grade one main road.

Purpose of project

  • Provides connection between boshehr-dashsetan zone and other zones within Iran. Also provides connection between the countries along Persian Gulf region, Pakistan, and India on the one hand, and the countries of former Soviet Union (in the central Asia) and Afghanistan on the other hand.
  • Shortens the length of the existing road in use for about 60 km.
  • Facilitates heavy traffic on the route of boshehr-dashsetan.

Technical details

Overall length of this route is km 48 500, and its average width is 11 m. Also its driving width is 7.30 m, its shoulder at each side is 1.85 m, the width of binder course asphalt 10.40 m, the width of Topka asphalt layer 10.20 m, the legal right-of-way 45 m, minimum radius on the plain 400 m and on the mountains 250 m.
There are 164 bridges along this route with different span sizes from 2 m to 20 m. As a result of high quality required and fulfillment of above details and benefiting from multitudinous advantages of a pre-cast system, most of the sections were produced and installed in a pre-cast manner.

Meanwhile, due to high quality requirement of this connecting road, and removal of hard-to-pass points on this route, 3 tunnels were designed for this route which is under construction, and their total length is about 1024 m. Furthermore, in addition to site mobilization on the route, a well equipped site was also constructed to prepare and produce the pre-cast sections. The concrete pre-cast sections produced by this site includes beams of 2, 4, 6, 10 and 20 m, as well as parapet, ribbed flat, diaphragm wall and diaphragm bottom.

This site has also produced other items such as abutment wall and strut wall used for the first time in the road construction work.
